Mariela Ceramica is the ceramic studio of Chilean artist Mariela Torres, based in Ghent, Belgium. Her work draws inspiration from South American heritage and an intuitive approach to form. Her work explores the intersection of sculpture and function, each piece entirely handmade using traditional coiling techniques. This embraces irregularity, texture and the beauty of imperfection, resulting in expressive yet grounded forms shaped slowly by hand without moulds. Her palette draws from memory and landscape, featuring sun-baked earth, mineral tones and unexpected bursts of colour. Produced in small batches or as one-of-a-kind pieces, each object carries a distinct presence.
